Where awnings earn their keep in Matamata
The classic Matamata job is a north-facing farmhouse or town home with a deep deck that gets sun from mid-morning until dusk. Because the high-summer sun sits nearly overhead, horizontal projection above the deck does far more good than anything mounted on the vertical — which is exactly what a folding-arm awning provides.

Can you shade a pool area outside Matamata?

What's the difference between your two awning systems?
Horizon is a folding-arm awning: overhead shade for decks and outdoor living, retracting flat to the wall. Vertigo is an adjustable drop-arm awning: it shades windows, adds privacy and protects interiors from UV, with sunscreen mesh for filtered light or acrylic canvas for a fuller screen. Plenty of homes end up with both.
